Tasting Note

Delicate and complex bouquet with fruity notes that remind of peach, green apple and lemon with floral notes of rosebuds. Fresh and light on the palate, with balanced acidity and body and hints of ripe sweet strawberries.

Producer

Brilla, a Venetian sparkling wine company based in Fossalta di Piave, in the province of Venice. The winery produces a range of labels that express all the freshness and immediate pleasure of Prosecco, which has now become a symbol of conviviality all over the world. The concept of Brilla was inspired to combine the world of Prosecco with one of the greatest expressions of design and Italian style: jewels. Brilla created a bottle texture that is reminiscent of diamonds, with a special emphasis on pear shaped diamonds, which have always been synonymous with high calibre jewellery. Once used to adorn the crowns and jewels worn by aristocrats, today they become Prosecco, Brilla Prosecco!

Winemaking

This Prosecco is made with Glera grapes, the typical white grape variety of the area and up to 15% of Pinot Nero to add delicate pink hues of colour and delicate strawberry notes to the palate. The grapes undergo soft pressing and are then fermented for 8–10 days with selected yeasts in thermo-regulated steel vats. At the end of a short ageing, the wine is transferred to a pressurized tank where the second fermentation takes place according to the Martinotti Method. This generates the famous bubbles which are captured on the bottling line.

Fun Fact

The first historical documents referring to Prosecco wine date back to the end of the 17th century and describe a white and delicate wine; today it is one of the best known sparkling wines in the world. However, it is only since late 2019 it can be enjoyed in its rose pink expression, which originates from the union of Glera and Pinot Nero grapes.

Food pairing

The perfect party and celebration wine. Ideal as an aperitif and can be served throughout a meal with light dishes. Also a good partner for pastry, fruit and cream based desserts.

“Inspired by diamonds, the distinctive packaging design features a glittery label and a paisley pattern etched into the glass. This is definitely a wine aimed at the female drinker! This was the pick of the extra dry wines we tasted: it's not at all restrained, but it's joyous. Take a sniff and you get intense aromas of tinned wild strawberries in syrup. Sip it though and it's not sickly sweet at all, surprisingly fresh, with sherbetty, summer fruit flavours. Would be delicious with a slice of strawberry tart.”

“From the Veneto wine region, Brilla rosé Prosecco is so pretty in the glass. Pale pink and elegant on the nose with a lively and persistent mousse of ripe cherry, red berry, lemon-lime zest notes. Chill and enjoy on its own or with seafood and veggie appies.”
