Tasting Note

This subtle and delicate Entre-deux-Mers gleams with a beautiful green golden colour. The nose offers very fine aromas of lemon, grapefruit, exotic fruits, white flowers and brioche. The vivacious palate is smooth yet lively with more citrus mingled with soft mellow baking spice from a short spell in oak

Producer

The motto of the Cheval Quancard wine company is “l'émotion des bordeaux nous inspire“. “We are inspired by the emotion of Bordeaux”

Founded in 1844 by Pierre Quancard, the Cheval Quancard company has grown over the years and now owns ten chateaux in various prestigious appellations. As a negociant, the company also has partnerships with additional chateaux as well. Cheval Quancard prides itself on offering a range of Bordeaux wines which surpass expectations in terms of quality, diversity, authenticity and value.

Winemaking

Hand picked at dawn at optimum ripeness the grapes are taken to the winery with the least possible handling to protect the intense flavours of the grapes. After traditional cool fermentation anf maturation, the wine spend 6 months in oak barrels which amplifies the mellow texture of Muscadelle.

Fun Fact

The first Chateau owned by Pierre Quancard was Château de Bordes-Quancard which was originally a stud farm. In 1985 the company name became Cheval Quancard (cheval meaning horse in French) as an homage to horse symbolising loyalty, wisdom and conquest.

Food pairing

A delicious aperitif which can be served with with all types of fish and seafood. It also pairs well with cheese platters and lighter summer dishes.
