Tasting Note
A berry bouquet leads on to a fruit filled palate of plums, cherries and blackberries. Flavours are layered with notes of coconut from oak ageing and subtle spices linger in the finish.
Producer
Septima winery’s vineyards are located in the in the prestigious region of Lujan de Cuyo in Agrelo in the wonderful province of Mendoza by the majestic Andes mountain range. This high altitude terroir offers optimum conditions to make high quality wines. With 360 hectares of cultivated land and balanced levels of production, Septima offers a wide range of consistently high quality wines all manually farmed.
Winemaking
Malbec grapes from 20 year old vines are handpicked from plots in Lujon de Cuyo and Valle de Uco. The Agrelo grapes contribute round fruity pluminess while those from higher altitude Uco have austere floral freshness. The parcels are vinified separately with ageing in used French and American oak barrels for up to 12 months.
Fun Fact
Septima has a “Lab Top 3 & Igual o Mejor” (Equal or Better) policy: each new wine is evaluated in terms of its competitive range and will only be launched to the market if the blind tasting panel select it as the top 3 best world-wines. Each wine must be equal or better than the same wine from the previous vintage.
Food pairing
Grilled meats and hard aged cheeses with strong flavours work well with this wine.
