Tasting Note

A lively, vivacious sweet sparkling wine with an attractive bright pink colour and fine persistent bubbles. Aromas are intensely fruity reminiscent of juicy ripe grapes, so typical of the Moscatel grape. The palate is round, mellow and deliciously with red berry flavours from Tempranillo

Producer

The original Jaume Serra winery is located on “El Padruell” Estate, just by the Mediterranean coast, south from Barcelona. The winery dates back to 1647, and vineyards were planted all around progressively, until in 1986 when the named Jaume Serra winery was founded.

In 1997 the property was acquired by the Garcia Carrion family and joined a group of wineries in the most important wine regions of Spain. The Jaume Serra winery today is the most popular producer of cava in Spain and is the second largest exporter of Cava.

Winemaking

Sparkling white wine made using the Charmat method with selected Moscatel grapes. The creation process of this wine includes a first fermentation at a controlled temperature below 18º. Sugar and yeast are added to the wine obtained and thus a second alcoholic fermentation takes place. With this method, the carbon dioxide characteristic of this wine is achieved through the process, without gasification and only through fermentation. Finally a drop of blue food colouring is added.

Food pairing

Serve this sweet wine well chilled accompanying appetizers, fish, seafood, light dishes or desserts. A delicious wine for sipping solo or as a welcome aperitif. And to make a special party drink, pour over ice.
