Producer
The Baron D’Arignac was born in 1649 in the castle of Arignac located in the heart of the Pyrenees Mountains which was the property of his family since 1455. After visiting his uncle’s vineyards at the age of 18, the young Baron, full of passion and ambitions, decided to learn about wines. In 1676, he independently blended his first red wine of the Baron d’Arignac cuvee. Humbly, he sent the wines to all his relatives as well as many close royal families for their critique. Their positive response encouraged what was to be his lifelong career.
Commercialised in the 1980’s, the Baron d’Arignac range of wines is one of the most widely distributed wine brands in the world.
Winemaking
Warm vineyards ensures high concentration of flavours in the grapes. The grapes are harvested and pressed with fermentation taking place in cool temperature controlled vats.
