Immersed in nature and its silence, Caiarossa, situated in the heart of the Val di Cecina, on the Tuscan coast, exists within its own area of unspoiled beauty. The location of this estate is part of its attraction, giving the sensation that one is the first to discover the property. Yet, Caiarossa, with its sensations of subtle luxuriousness, has existed only since 1998. In 2004 Caiarossa was acquired by Eric Albada Jelgersma, a Dutch entrepreneur with a great passion for wine and also the owner of Chateau Giscours and Chateau du Tertre - two Grand Crus classé in Margaux, Bordeaux.
Critical Acclaim
Vivino 4.3
93 points Falstaff
Powerful, bright ruby violet. Opens with notes of graphite and tobacco, rich dark berries, above all blueberry and elderberry, some eucalyptus. Also shows a lot of tobacco on the palate, unfolds with grippy tannin, deep, earthy notes, some tomato paste, firm drive on the finish, but also drying.
93 points James Suckling
A fresh, chewy red with brightness and coolness for this ripe vintage. Medium body. Pretty fruit. Dark-berry, wet-earth and mushroom flavors. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drinkable now, but better in 2022 and onwards.
