Tasting Note

Roof Top delights with a beautiful pink colour. The nose is aromatic and dominated by notes of fresh red fruits on the medium bodied palate. Signature cherries and berries from Pinot Noir are juicy and blend well with a gentle tease of Cinsault pepper with light acidity.

Producer

The foundations of Haussmann Famille are based on the story of the colourful Baron Georges Eugène Haussmann. He began as prefect of the Gironde in 1851, and of the Seine in 1853. He elaborated a plan to renovate Paris, directing its transformations with an array of boulevards and avenues. Baron Haussmann was a great lover of wine and fell under the charm of Octavie de Laharpe, the daughter of a great Bordeaux wine merchant, thus founding the House of Haussmann in Bordeaux.

His descendant today, Nathalie Larraqué-Haussmann, also married into a wine negociant family.

“Haussmann is the story of a family, a whole life. What began as a solemn homage to my ancestor and family name has morphed over the years into a beautiful adventure that never ceases to disrupt and enhance my life.” Nathalie Larraqué-Haussmann

Winemaking

Vinification at low temperature after direct pressing to secure the right colour and flavour concentration with faint tannic contribution from pips and grape skins. After settling, the alcoholic fermentations are prolonged as long as possible in order to maximize the fruity character of this rosé. Maturation in stainless steel ensures the fruitiness is preserved.

Fun Fact

From the Eiffel Tower to the Empire State Building via Big Ben, take to the skies and taste Roof Top, a fresh rose wine with a Southern French accent. To be enjoyed on your Roof Top.

Food pairing

Enjoyable at all times. Ideal as an aperitif or with grilled fish, chicken skewers pickled with lemon or Mediterranean cuisine.
