Tasting Note

Enticing aromas of crisp green apples, white peaches and lemon lead on to a fresh palate with juicy grapefruit and nectarine flavours, judiciously balanced with creamy toasty notes in the finish.

Producer

Jamiesons Run was founded in 1955 by Ron Haselgrove, managing director of the Mildara wine company, and in 1963 he built one of the first modern wineries in the district.

The winery has won many awards over the years including the prestigious Jimmy Watson Trophy at the 1989 Melbourne Wine Show.

Winemaking

Early morning harvesting ensures optimum freshness for the grapes. Harvesting is done at optimum ripeness while there is still balanced acidity in the fruit. Traditional vinification takes place in temperature controlled steel vats with just enough pressure applied during pressing to extract the purest possible grape juice. A judicious touch of oak balances the fruity flavours with toasted spice.

Fun Fact

Jamieson’s Run Winery was named after a sheep station in Victoria, a property familiar to the winery founder who decided to give his winery a quirky agriculturally inspired name as a tribute to the pioneers of the outback

Food pairing

A lazy summer evening wine, ideal as a sundowner, aperitif or as an accompaniment for light summer dishes and salads.
