Winemaking

Merlot grapes are harvested from selected parcels in Bordeaux with harvesting taking place early morning to preserve the fruit’s freshness and aromas. During winemaking, battonage takes place to extract as much flavour and colour as possible. The wine is matured on fine lees to temper the fruit flavours with biscuit and nut elements. The wine is bottled young to preserve the fruit’s freshness. 

Fun Fact

The BDX brand has adopted the slogan “The Modern Taste of Bordeaux” and used BDX as a worldwide brand name as a play on airport codes. 

Food pairing

This dry wine is excellent with rich roasted meats and slow cooked lamb. It also goes well with charcuterie and strong cheeses
