Producer
Septima winery’s vineyards are located in the in the prestigious region of Lujan de Cuyo in Agrelo in the wonderful province of Mendoza by the majestic Andes mountain range. This high altitude terroir offers optimum conditions to make high quality wines. With 360 hectares of cultivated land and balanced levels of production, Septima offers a wide range of consistently high quality wines all manually farmed.
Winemaking
This is a precious wine where the winemaker takes on the role of alchemist. Malbec grapes are sourced from high altitude parcels in Gualtallary, Los Chacayes, Altamira and Vistalba and bring signature black fruits to the blend. The Agrelo vineyards provide violet scented Tannat while Cabernet Sauvignon is responsible for structure and depth. The parcels are aged separately for 18 months in new French & American barrels before the final blending process to achieve the alchemist’s golden result.
Fun Fact
Septima has a “Lab Top 3 & Igual o Mejor” (Equal or Better) policy: each new wine is evaluated in terms of its competitive range and will only be launched to the market if the blind tasting panel select it as the top 3 best world-wines. Each wine must be equal or better than the same wine from the previous vintage.
