Tasting Note

This Shiraz exudes notes of raspberry, blackberry, wild strawberry, plum, toasted caramel, coffee and liquorice . The ripe and juicy fruits make the wine delicious and juicy on the palate, complemented by peppery notes. The finish is suave and persistent.

Winemaking

Thirty-year-old Shiraz vines are grown near Sacramento, a sunny climate where the San Francisco Bay and the San Joaquin-Sacramento River Delta, provide airflow and essential cooling influences, allowing the grapes to ripen leisurely. The autumn harvest takes place just as the temperatures start to drop and before inclement weather damages the grapes. At the winery, the grapes are destemmed and pressed. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats, preserving the fruity and juicy character of the Syrah. Then, the wine is aged for 4 months in oak barrels to give it spices and character.
