Tasting Note

Aromas of vanilla, cracked black pepper and dark damson fruit. On the palate this wine is round and fleshy, beautifully balanced and packed full with robust red fruit flavours and a lick of oak.

Winemaking

The grapes are selected from old vine Zinfandel vineyards in the Lodi region of central California. Vinification is in stainless steel tanks with a little oak ageing during maturation.

Showdown wines from California take their label inspiration from cartomancy (the art of fortune telling). The main characteristic of each wine are matched to characters from a classic pack of cards. 

The Jack of Diamonds is also known as The Messenger, but one that may be unfaithful or deceitful. Whether he brings favour or misfortune, only fate will decide.
